Friends of the school

The Friends of Parker’s Primary School – also known as FOPPS – is a small, volunteer-run charity that works to support Parker’s CofE Primary Academy and its pupils. FOPPS plays the role that a more traditional Parent Teacher Association (PTA) might in other settings: seeking to run events, fundraise and bring the school community together.

Over the school year, we organise parties, clubs and social events for the children to have fun with their friends, and raise money via raffles, cake sales and other activities. In 2023-24 the Friends raised a grand total of £3,390! This breaks down to £2,027 in general funds and £1,363 raised for a new outdoor learning area.
The Friends spent £2,066 over the same period, supporting school trips, activities, new equipment, and gifts for the children. 

They are excited to start developing the outdoor learning area over the coming year – if this is something you might be able to help with in a practical or a fundraising sense, get in touch!

Who are the Friends of Parker’s Primary School?

FOPPS is currently run by three parent trustees and a wider team of volunteers who give their time to contribute ideas, fundraise and organise events.

How can you help?

Support our events!
Encourage your children to come along to the parties and activities we run, and support us at events for the whole school community. Every cup of tea, slice of cake or raffle ticket you buy helps to fund equipment and activities for the school.
Become a volunteer
We couldn’t run the events we do without volunteers willing to help out, man stalls and supervise the children. All volunteers helping at events need to be DBS checked via the school, but this is a free and easy process, managed by the school office.
Share your time and skills
Do you have time to spare or skills we could use to better support the school? Could you research grant opportunities or help to organise future events? If so, we would love to hear from you. Many hands make light work!
